Family

My family is the greatest support and joy so I wanted to introduce them here. My wife, Lori, and I met at UC Davis as undergraduates and married in San Jose, California in 1994.

Lydia is our oldest, a recent UC Davis graduate in psychology. She enjoys crafting and sewing, including quilting. Timothy is our son who loves online gaming and sports. A couple years ago he became acutely ill with a rare autoimmune disorder (read his health story here). Aleta is the youngest, an avid reader and animal lover now a student at UC Riverside.

The Chang family is no stranger to health conditions impacting daily life, having been diagnosed with various conditions: Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), Spina Bifida, IBS, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety disorder/OCD, and asthma. We strive to create a supportive, accepting environment for each family member to feel empowered to face daily life challenges with optimism and hope.

We take a family trip each summer. Here’s a photo of us from our trip to South Dakota in 2016:

I graduated with my Doctor of Ministry degree from Fuller Theological Seminary in June 2016. My parents, George and Susan Chang, who live in Southern California, joined us in celebrating commencement. My dad was diagnosed with psoriasis for the first time just a few years ago.
